Realms Con has been a staple to the Corpus area for some time now. They always provide an assortment of guests, from wrestlers to voice actors, realms con books for the masses. The event is held at the American Bank Center right off the water, providing a stunning view of USS Lexington and the Gulf of Mexico. Much of the appeal is in its location and venue. Unfortunately, like most 2 story cons, moving from one level to another is always a hassle. With limited elevator use and one side of the escalators closed, some attendees choose to stay put. This caused traffic issues when moving from room to room. The best room in the venue was the arcade. Large 55 inch screens and stand up cabinets dominated to room. There was even a side are for PC gaming and good seating for the spectators. The Vendor's room was filled with many of the local vendors and other events promoting but the best booth in my opinion was Sorbet Jungle. This young lass has created some of the cutest creatures in her illustrations. She places them on acrylic jewelry, shirts, and even blankets. Her art work shouldn't be missed and neither the plushy toys she offers. Most of the guests lined up in hallway outside but a few were missing throughout the day. I mainly saw Mini-Me, actor Verne Troyer, scooting in and out of elevators and not once did I see Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Alas, my Mortal Kombat Blu-ray remains unsigned. The day started slow, but had a decent rush of cosplayers late that afternoon. Facebook reported quite a bit of top level cosplays but only few were present during my stay. I enjoyed meeting the Corpus community and spending time with some of the vendors. Realms con is on the path to being a great event in the fall.

Realms Con 2013
Visiting the con by the sea, I was glad to see some things done better and I was even happier to spend some time with the community in Corpus Christi.
